TEXTILES
WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN?
Students will learn to complete tasks safely within set time frames. A range of trials in the following techniques will be completed-‐ Flour paste batik, Mono printing on fabric, stencilling, rubbings, screen printing, fabric paper making, incorporating script, interpreting computer generated design into textiles work and journal construction.
Students will then use these experiments to develop design options for a journal, textile art piece or wearable art. Production of their preferred option will follow. Learning will be extended by altering an article of clothing following a teacher/student negotiated design brief and work plan.
HOW WILL STUDENTS LEARN?
Students will manage their personal learning by completing a detailed design brief, negotiating with the teacher and writing a production plan. A portfolio/journal of class work and ideas will also be developed.
HOW WILL STUDENTS BE ASSESSED?
Assessment will include portfolio review, Design plans, creating and making as well as research. Managing tasks within set time frames is also an essential part of success.
