VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN
WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN?
Visual Communication Design is a hands‐on subject. Student learn to communicate ideas and information through the use of:

Drawing conventions

Design elements and principles
-
Skills, techniques and processes
Students combine these fundamentals of design to create visual solutions to a design challenge.
HOW WILL STUDENTS LEARN?
Students will learn by researching, investigating, and creating designs for a particular need or purpose. To achieve this students may use the following applications:

observational and representation drawing
-
instrumental drawing (perspective, praline and plan)

letter form (typography)
-
signs and symbols
-
architectural, commercial and environmental design
-
element and principles of design (colour, shape, tone, texture, etc.)

the role and practices of designers
HOW WILL STUDENTS BE ASSESSED?
Students will be assessed on the content and presentation of their visual diary and major design pieces.
