On Wednesday May 30th, year 7 students visited Deakin University’s Waurn Ponds campus.
On arrival, we were met by a group of Deakin students who spent the day with us. After breaking into groups, we began with a tour looking at the campus facilities.
Following the tour, students participated in a workshop called ‘Presiding over the Possibilities’ run by the Deakin students. We then enjoyed lunch at the Deakin Food Court and there was also time to play basketball, kick the footy and use the impressive outdoor gym facilities.
In the afternoon, students broke into groups of four to five to participate in a ‘Mission Possible’ task where they used clues from around the university to crack a code. We finished the day with a Deakin student panel where the year 7s asked many questions about studying and life at university. After an enjoyable few hours at Deakin it was time to return to CSC.
