The Year 10 program is part of the Senior Learning Community and is aligned with the year 11 & 12 timetable to provide students with the opportunity to prepare for the transition into VCE or VCAL.
Colac Secondary College has had many very successful results in VCE. This has been a result of several curriculum initiatives such as a vertical stream for all VCE subjects, allowing for accelerated learning and a flexibility in learning.
We also promote a developing VCAL course and encourage students to complete part time apprenticeships and VET courses where appropriate.
The Year 9 Curriculum is a new initiative that provides students with a wide variety of experiences both at school and in the community. We are offering our students a new and exciting method of learning, to best prepare them before they enter their senior stage of education.
The design of the Year 7 and 8 buildings at Colac Secondary College encourages teaching and learning flexibility allowing for a range of classroom teaching arrangements.
Year 7 and 8 students will spend most of their class time within their community but will move out to dedicated buildings for specialist studies such as Science, Art and Technology.
