ARTS - VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN
DESCRIPTION
Visual Communication Design (VCD) is a hands-on subject where students create a visual solution to a problem.
This is achieved by following the design process which involves investigating, trialling, designing and presenting.
As graphic designers students will use traditional drawing equipment and techniques as well as computer design software.
FOCUS
Students will focus on representing, designing and creating visual solutions.
To achieve this, the following areas may be covered: observational and representational drawing, instrumental drawing (perspective and paraline), orthogonal presentations, letter from, signs and symbols, architectural and commercial design.
Also the elements and principles of design (colour, shape texture, etc.) will be applied to enhance the students ability to communicate and present effectively to a client or particular audience.
