WHAT WILL STUDENTS LEARN?

Students will study comedy (Commedia Del Arte) and drama (Melodrama). This will involve learning and implementing the acting skills and planning skills used in these genres. They will create characters and acts. Students will build on skills gained from previous years including improvisation and playbuilding skills. 

 

HOW WILL STUDENTS LEARN?

Students will practice focussing and concentration techniques where they will use movement styles, voice, personality exploration to develop characters. They will create acts using different genres as inspiration. Students will read and analyse scripts and different acts, to build on their own performance skills. They will work both individually and in groups developing their understanding and skills in stagecraft.

HOW WILL STUDENTS BE ASSESSED?

Practical Presentation -­‐ Analyse, prepare, plan, rehearse, refine and present drama from a set script using symbolic props and costumes to enhance performance.

Assignment -­‐ Analyse and evaluate a scripted work and performance.

Assignment – Prepare and record a performance based on improvisation.
